Exit Cleaning Instructions
Any excess cleaning and/or removal of trash may result in forfeiture of your cleaning/damage deposit.
The condo comes fully stocked for your enjoyment. Items include:
Internet is available in your guest suite. You will receive the log-in and password to access the Internet in a separate welcome letter.
The USVI uses standard US 120V power system. Please note: as with many islands, power outages do happen on occasion and are out of our control. Most often, outages are brief. It is a great time to head to the beach, or one of the restaurants/bars in Red Hook as most have their own generator for power.
There are many taxis that cover the island. There is a taxi stand right at the entrance to Sapphire beach where you can request a taxi most hours of the day. If you take a ride you really like, ask for the driver's card so you can phone directly should you want to arrange more travel.
When in town, you can ask the store/restaurant to call a taxi for you. Also, there are often taxis around you can just inquire with. Be careful though – there are non-licensed taxis on the island. Essentially, just locals that give you a ride for a bit less money.
Also, note, taxi’s charge per person and you may share a taxi with others.
A taxi to or from Red Hook should run about $4-$5 per person.
A couple of phone numbers for taxis you can also take with you when out and about:
East End Taxi: +1 (340) 775-6974
Marley’s Taxi Service: +1 (340) 998-1380 (Or you can message them on Facebook)
VI Taxi: +1 (340) 774-7457
Open-air omnibus service on Saint Thomas is provided by so-called “safaris,” which loop around the island. One may board a safari near the “Sapphire Beach Resort” sign at the top of the hill on the main road. The fare to Red Hook is $1.00. The fare to Charlotte-Amalie is $2.00. Note: the busses go only one direction. When headed “into town” they will stop at the Kmart in Tutu plaza. Most of the time, they then continue on to Charlotte Amalie. You may want to verify with the driver if this is the case. On the way back, they again stop and Kmart and then usually continue on through the loop back towards Sapphire and Red Hook. Note, there is no schedule and the busses generally stop running about dusk or around 6:00 during the summer when it stays light later.
If you are renting a vehicle, remember to always drive on the LEFT, as one would in England or Japan. During peak season, renting can be a challenge if not pre-arranged. If you find yourself in this predicament, and have access to Facebook, there are several St. Thomas groups where you could pose the questions. Again, be careful – Only Rent from a Company you can verify.
When you arrive, please inform the security guard you will be staying in F206 and the dates of your stay. You should get a parking pass. If not, that is ok, it just means they are not very busy and not requiring parking passes.
